Foi retraçado aquilo que se pode denominar as bases do amor. Um amor suficientemente grande, segundo a definição de Freud, para englobar as diferentes acepções do termo. O ponto de partida deste trabalho sobre o continente tão conhecido que é o da paixão amorosa concentrou- se em pelo menos duas acepções: aquela do contexto amoroso e aquela, apenas esboçada, da paixão repentina.
