Evolution on and of Bion

In this paper different definitions of the term “evolution” are mentioned and discussed, including Darwin’s and Spencer’s positions. Bion uses this word often, especially referring it to the evolution of O (his name for ultimate reality, absolute truth, the thing-in-itself, etc.). O R (external reality) and O psi (psychic reality) are discriminated, and the impact of this evolution in the thinkers mind. Their intersection can generate mental growth or its opposite. At the end of the paper, the evolution of Bion’s ideas and theories is comented on.
