One hundred years of the IPA

This is a brief summary about the history of IPA and its relation to psychoanalysis. It was written for the celebrations of IPA’s centenary, which include public events around the world throughout this year. This text has been drafted based on two main sources. First my personal experience in the IPA, second the documents which I had access. It is necessary to make it clear from the beginning of this text, that this institution called IPA (International Psychoanalytical Association) was created by Sigmund Freud himself with his first followers help. Its purposes was to safeguard psychoanalysis teachings and to promote their dissemination worldwide.
