Abstract

This paper aims at the analysis of the development of literary creation focusing on the examination of the paradigm changes that occur to the writing and reading processes in the 21st century. Issues that affect the creative process and the current conceptions of literature and art are discussed, such as technology and media influences, globalization and multiculturalism, textual acquisitions and interdisciplinarity, subjective and canonic memory. A further critic reflection on the qualification of literary texts, orientation procedures and the formation of writers as readers as well is presented.

Bacharel em Direito e em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Mestre em Literatura Brasileira, Doutora em Literatura Comparada, crítica literária e Professora Aposentada do Instituto de Letras da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul.
