Abstract

This paper presents a reflection on Jean Laplanche’s ideas about the theories of drives: foundation and genesis. The author covers Laplanche’s position particularly in the context of sexual death drive, which has the sense of an unbinding strength which is demoniacal, untamed and hostile to the self.
