The adjective “childish” is used by Freud throughout his work: in particular, infantile sexuality as an organizer of drives and infantile neurosis as prototype of transference neurosis are among the metapsychological basics of all psychoanalysts.
I proposed to transform this adjective into a noun: Infantile.
In the first part of my talk, I will talk about the content of this noun, and the mode of action of this Infantile in the analytical treatment. I will talk to you in particular on the effect of this Infantile on the interpretive activity of the analyst.
In the second part of my talk, I will talk about today's teenagers and how the Infantile concept can help us, health and education, to better understand our adolescents, to alleviate their suffering and to appease their violence. [...]
