In this work, I return to Piera Aulagnier’s theory, in order to think about drug addiction under the aegis of passionality. In that regard, I address how the two stages of cocaine, ranging from excitement and omnipotence, to a state of pain and persecutory ideas, seem to be related both to a pact between Eros and Thanatos, and to a type of relationship with parental figures, which has as background a mother figure who meets needs and a tyrannical father figure who persecutes and punishes. Therefore, such agreements end up imprisoning the addicted subject, in the sense of he always ends up returning to the place he tried to avoid.
