We will outline a panorama of post-Lacanian contributions that explore the confluences and divergences between queer theories and contemporary psychoanalysis. Our journey aims – with Lacan – to overcome the normative universality of the Oedipal structure and the hierarchical binarism of sexual difference, to advance toward a more nuanced conception where contingency and singularity prevail. We will show how, through the productive tension between Butlerian and Lacanian approaches, without reducing one approach to the other, nor confusing their distinct epistemological registers, the symptom appears not as a formation to be eliminated, but as a subjective creation to be transformed. The “trans-formed symptom” thus emerges as a clinical operator that allows us to think about the articulation between body, jouissance, and language.
