The book A organização do pensamento clínico em psicoterapia, edited by Walter Trinca, opens up a space for us to reflect on fundamental issues regarding contemporary psychotherapy practice. The work aims to understand and bring us closer to the core of the psychotherapeutic task: connecting—or reconnecting—the individual with their own being. This being is viewed as a focal point of life, a primary existential reality, and an axis of internal support and development upon which the individual relies to live authentically. The authors featured here are scholars and specialists in the field who present key concepts, elements, and aspects of the psyche, thereby contributing to the development of a way of listening to the other that fosters an encounter with the self. In this regard, the book establishes and outlines a methodology—presented throughout the text—for organizing clinical thought. [...]
