Este estudio nos da la perspectiva de como el proceso de la investigación psicoanalítica puede ser hecho. Fue desarrollado observando en detalles el modelo del proceso de investigación de Ulm y resume los diversos estudios empíricos que son hechos en tratamientos de psicoanálisis completamente grabados en cinta. Los estudios demuestran las diversas formas empíricas de los procesos de investigación disponibles para objetivar el estudio del proceso y el fenómeno de los resultados.
