Abstract

In this article, the author analyzes the differences between traditional and contemporary family in their relations with school and society. He calls attention for the inversion of values observed in the relations between parents and children as result of a post-modernity typical phenomenon called fashion. He approaches the body subject in the current world, pointing out its comparison to a consumption product, emphasizes the superficiality of the loving relationships and its standardization in the different ages as an origin of the globalization phenomenon. He describes the parental functions and faces the subject of children’s adoption by homosexual couples and makes considerations about homosexuality in school, involving students and teachers. Finally meditates that, despite some changes, family continues to be fundamental for the individual’s psychic structuring, but their true values can be rescued in new families created by the separation.
