The author deals with the issue of the existence of early – prenatal – traumatic biological imprints on the human mind which will find expression in post-natal life. She first refers an analytical experience with a woman patient in the early eighties which brought home this matter to her and led her to the formulation of the hypothesis of the existence of a cellular memory (inscription of a traumatic conception :sperm/egg relationship and concept/mother aggressive relatlonship). She then describes a current analytical experience with a male patient focusing first on the clinical circumstances which made her formulate this hypothesis in order to help him deal with his great difficulties in establishing inter and intra-psychical links and how little by little – due to the employment of this frame of reference – he would melt his protective mental shield which was an impediment to his establishing any sort of mind-to-mind contact and to achieve mental growth.Downloads
