In this paper I will try to address some aspects of economy and dynamics of somatization, failures in the symbolization process and technique in the analysis of patients with somatic manifestations. Many authors who work with patients who suffer from somatic disorders do not distinguish between degrees of somatization. I think it is important to make this distinction, because a greater understanding of these different psychodynamics gives us more specific approaches and therefore analysis can be closer to the patient’s suffering.
