In this paper the authors, based on the literary narrative presented in Fritz Zorn’s book “Mars” (1977/1986), illustrate the development of important concepts in the field of psychosomatics. When Fritz Angst, narrator and protagonist of the book, finds out he has cancer, he decides to write his autobiography immersed in a psychotherapeutic treatment that began at this time. Through the elegant writing of the author, the most varied themes are treated by the School of Psychosomatic Psychoanalysis of Paris: issues related to failures in narcissism, fundamental trauma, melancholy, progressive disorganization, somatic regression, drive desintrication, relations between psychoanalysis and the body.
