The authors attribute to the defense the role of a switch responsible for the distribution and circulation of the drives, determining the positions that the members of a conjugal bond assume among themselves and in their relationships with others. They establish connections of their ideas with the contributions of Puget and Berenstein and Aulagnier and Käes on unconscious agreements, narcissistic contracts and denegatives pacts. Finally, they study the cases of libidinal stagnation, responsible for toxic processes that determine devitalization conditions followed by a series of pathological manifestations in the psychic, behavioral and somatic spheres.
