Abstract

Structural racism is a reality in Brazilian society and can be observed mainly when taking into account the configurations of interracial families and the impacts generated on children’s psychological development arising from these relationships. Children and adults who experience feelings of acceptance or rejection within these family dynamics develop different ways of seeing themselves, others and the world around them. This work proposes to think about children’s psychic development from the perspective of structural racism, often manifested in situations suffered by black mothers and white children, white mothers and black children. This writing aims to reflect on the ways in which black people, black history and black ancestry have been denied in theoretical psychoanalytic discourses regarding issues related to interracial families and their interaction dynamics, neglecting the child’s feelings since your birth.
