This speech consists of a spontaneous explanation by the author, in a Conversation Circle at SBPdePA, whose objective was to trigger the debate about Psychoanalysis in the face of dissident sexualities. The event was entitled “An expedition to the pole in summer clothes: psychoanalysis in the face of sexual dissent”, homonymous to the text by Facundo Blestcher that problematizes psychoanalytic approaches and theories on this topic. The author explains her positions on the importance of psychoanalysts reviewing and updating their metapsychological and clinical theories, so as not to promote violent and desubjectivizing listening that, instead of mitigating the suffering of these people, ends up repeating prejudiced and deadly attacks. Like Blestcher’s text, the author emphasizes the value of psychoanalysis listening to what sexual diversities have to say and not the other way around. Her participation concludes by showing a clip with testimonials from artists with different sexual and gender backgrounds.
