This paper aims to raise theoretical aspects of the latency and pubescent periods, from Freud and Anna’s Freud conceptions through Meltzer to more recent developments, mainly from Urribari, Bornstein and Etchegoyen. It emphasizes the importance of these two phases of development on the individual formation and its consequences caused by alterations which might happen in its course. It follows some data after researches of professionals who work with this kind of patient, ending on a discussion which integrates theoretical ideas with the findings on investigation.
