The author discusses the impact and management of the lack of subjectivity, affection and imagination, which are frequent problems in some patients. He questions how it is possible to make a psychoanalytic treatment in the absence of these fundamental aspects. Reviews the work of some authors on the subject and the different denominations used for these patients. He notes that, despite the vast theory on the subject, there are few references to the vicissitudes of treatment, or changes in technique. Through a clinical case, describes the evolution of this process, proposes a technique based on continence and the continuous use of countertransference as a tool, and a more active style in the sessions. Shows the results obtained so far with the patient he describes, and what expects from the continuity of this treatment. Concludes by making some considerations about the understanding of these pathologies, and changes in the classic technique.
